Indecision

Rollin' through a beat-up PA town
while the midday sun comes hammering down,
stop by the only store open on Memorial day

Standing in the deli line
Meat or tuna, white or rye.
The counter girl gives me the eye,
And taps her foot, she says:
"You're indecision makes me nervous."

Nervous? Let me tell ya 'bout nervous
I got a brand new seat on my bike
it's like 2x4 under my ass and there's a sharp pain in my left knee
it's like...100º in the shade
oh honey, I know you'd rather be watchin' the parade...

grape harvesters and muscle cars, smiling kids and handlebars
and you're stuck here on the day shift
and my indecision makes you nervous

Alright, here's a decision–
I'll go with the steak & cheese.
My choices are somewhat limited–would you do me that solid, please?
I'll just amble through the store room and use the john
prowl your meager aisles–maybe I could write a song....

I came into town last night
ridin' around, looking' for a bite
aimless kids and shops closed dow, I sensed
trouble in this northcoast town
